Dear Delegates:
ICOI's April European Symposium, hosted by the Meffert Implant Institute, again represents a truly professional paradigm or model for other international meetings. Turkey is a country that has a self sufficient economy, a long history of health care innovation and a professionalgroup of several thousand dentists, both generalists and specialists, who place and restore implants. Interest in research is reflected by the large number of manuscripts that are submitted to our journal, IMPLANT DENTISTRY. Interest in advancing evidence based skills and techniques is clearly demonstrated by the quality of the speakers who have been assembled for this event. Dear Colleagues, I am pleased to announce that the Meffert Implant Institute will be the co-host of the ICOI European Symposium which will be held April 15-17, 2010 at the Maramara Hotel in Istanbul.  The Meffert Implant Institute, since its formation in 1997 has worked tirelessly in helping to spread implant education throughout Turkey.  We are proud to be the co-host of this congress with the ICOI. I would like to invite all of my colleagues to this important symposium.  A faculty of world renown speakers has been assembled for this congress.  They will share their knowledge and provide the most up-to-date information in the field of implant dentistry. Dear Colleagues, Prior to this event, the Meffert Implant Institute was responsible for organizing  three implant symposia and so it is with pleasure that we now will organize the ICOI European Symposium with the collaboration of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). The Meffert Implant Institute is one of only nine associations that are  Component Societies of the ICOI.  Interest in implant dentistry amongst Turkish doctors is apparent when one considers that our Turkish colleagues submit and publish more articles in IMPLANT DENTISTRY than any other country, save for Brazil. Our aim is to host ICOI’s WORLD CONGRESS in Turkey after the European Symposium.  With the contributions of our world-famous speakers at this event, the “Fall Festival” portion of the scientific program where speakers will share their unsuccessful experiences, should be very interesting.  Even the best make occasional mistakes!
